Admissions

Reception Admissions – September 2027

St Mary's has 30 places in each Reception class. You do not have to be Catholic to apply for a place at our school.

If you are considering St Mary's for your child, we would love to welcome you to our school. Please contact the school office.

Applying for a Reception Place

Applications for Reception places are made through Lancashire County Council.

The usual deadline for Reception applications is 15 January. Please check the Lancashire County Council website for the latest dates and guidance. If you need any assistance with the application please contact school to arrange a visit.

Our current Admissions Policy is available below.

Appeals

If your child is not offered a place at St Mary's, you have a legal right to appeal the decision to an independent appeal panel.

Information about the appeals process can be found on the Lancashire County Council website.

Nursery Admissions

Children are usually admitted to our nursery from the half-term after their third birthday.

We encourage families to contact us when their child is around two years old to register their interest.

To find out more about our nursery provision or to register your interest, please contact the school office.

In-Year Admissions

An in-year admission is an application for a school place made during the school year rather than for the normal September intake.

In-year admissions to St Mary's are managed by the school. Parents should contact the school office to request the relevant application forms.

If you would like your child to join St Mary's, please contact us on 01706 873123. We will be happy to discuss your application and arrange a meeting where appropriate.
